Routing: the unglamorous step that decides everything
A crack in a garage slab is not a clean slot. It is a jagged hairline packed with dust, salt residue, and micro-fractured edges. Squeeze filler onto that and you have glued a repair to debris. Routing - chasing the crack with a diamond blade to open a clean channel maybe a quarter inch wide - gives the filler sound concrete walls to grip. It takes minutes per crack and it is the single biggest difference between a repair that holds for the life of the floor and one that shadows back through the coating in a year. The flush grind
Once the filler cures, it gets ground level with the slab - not close, level.
